RIGHTS AND REPRODUCTION
As a national leader in the preservation and dissemination of knowledge about toys and miniatures, The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures (T/m) respects the intellectual property rights of others. T/m is committed to upholding its legal and moral obligations with respect to the use of copyright protected works, artists’ moral rights, copyright legislation, and other copyright licenses and agreements, trademarks, and patents.
In the digital age, the preservation and dissemination of knowledge is fostered by the use and reuse of digitized content for research, education, and creativity. The museum’s online collection’s goal is to increase access to collection objects for students, artists, collectors, and others. Certain objects in the T/m collection may be protected by copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights not owned by the museum. The museum can only grant permission to reproduce collection materials that are in the public domain, for which the museum has a license, or for which the museum is the owner of the intellectual property rights. In many cases, T/m owns only the physical objects. The museum does not assume any responsibility for intellectual property, copyright, or any other legal issues involved in the publication and reproduction of items in its collection if those rights are held by other individuals or entities. It is the responsibility of the individual to obtain permission from the copyright owner or administrator. The individual must furnish written proof of copyright permission granted to T/m prior to an image being released.
