Keisha’s Tea Party
September 17 @ 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm
Save the date for Kansas City’s KIDS-ONLY arts fundraiser on September 17, 2022!
The inaugural fundraising event is organized in memory of Keisha Clay, the original owner of the beloved Barbie Magical Mansion, now on display on the second floor at T/m. Carla Smocks, Keisha’s mother, shares this about Keisha:
“It was Keisha’s dream of making magical moments for little girls that inspired the posh party business she partnered in that included princess and tea parties for children. She had a passion for children and knew that enchanted, imaginative and dramatic play builds self-confidence and creative development to help children dream big dreams. She was always looking for opportunities to serve children, inspire and empower them for growth, and equip them to dream of unlimited possibilities as she did.”
Help us continue Keisha’s legacy at T/m’s first Kids-Only Arts Fundraiser!
Enjoy a magical afternoon of enchanted play in the galleries of The National Museum of Toys & Miniatures for a kids-only arts education fundraiser! Perfect for ages 6-11 and every gender, attendees will partake in a formal tea-party experience, in-gallery art activities, games, photobooths, and more.
Tickets are now on sale via EventBrite: https://keishasteapartyTM2022.eventbrite.com
T/m Members can save $2 on one ticket. Call 816.235.8000 to confirm your exclusive promo code. Not a member yet? Learn more: https://toyandminiaturemuseum.org/get-involved/membership/
Attendees do not need formal attire to attend – The party will begin with a dress-up closet where everyone can add to their outfit!
The event is made possible through the support of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, and Carla and Frank Smocks, whose generosity has helped T/m re-launch K-12 educational initiatives.
Attendees’ favorite adults can visit the museum galleries during the event for free, but tickets should be purchased for kids only. Due to space constraints, parents/guardians will not be allowed to participate in the tea party.
Sponsorship opportunities are available to promote your organization and/or to “gift” seats to partnering non-profit children’s education organizations. Please send inquiries to Rebekah Boyer, Sr. Manager of Development at email@example.com or call 816.235.8006.
