Community Conversations: Dr. Deja Beamon

October 4 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Dr. Deja Beamon, Assistant Professor of Black Studies at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, on Black Mother/Daughter Relationships

This community conversation will explore contemporary writing on Black mother/daughter relationships with special attention to the work of New York Times best-selling author of The Vanishing Half, Brit Bennett. We will then consider how mother/daughter relationships appear in Portraits of Childhood: Black Dolls from the Collection of Deborah Neff both implicitly and explicitly.

Join The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures for this thoughtful conversation, led by Dr. Deja Beamon, Assistant Professor of Black Studies at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
