Community Conversations: Kelly G. Loeb, MSW
October 19 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
This community conversation will explore the effects of dolls on memory loss. Playing with dolls can evoke sweet memories of childhood love, joy, and wonder. When an adult is experiencing cognitive change, they can have a harder time remembering recent events, while memories from longer ago often remain vivid and easier to recall. Dolls can be reassuring and nurturing for people with memory loss.
Join The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures for this unique conversation, led by Kelly G. Loeb, MSW, Community Engagement Coordinator for the University of Kansas Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. Loeb will share information and insight about how to care for someone with dementia, describe why Black women should be especially attuned to cognitive change, and suggest strategies toward prevention, treatment, and cure of dementia.
