Miniature Masterworks: Patricia Richards
July 28, 2017
Patricia Richards sews full- and fine-scale seventeenth- and eighteenth-century schoolgirl samplers. She isolates essential elements from the pieces she researches and adapts them to tell a story on a much smaller canvas. Richards has also been fascinated by stumpwork, a seventeenth-century technique involving dimensional embroidery.
Richards is one of more than sixty artists participating in Miniature Masterworks, September 15-17, 2017.
