K-12 Field Trips and Tours
To proceed with booking a K-12 tour or self-guided field trip, please review the guidelines and send a signed field trip agreement to the Museum Educator, K-12 and Family Programs, Faith Ordonio at faithordonio@toyandminiaturemuseum.org. Please note that tour scheduling is limited and subject to staff availability.

In-person social studies tours cover a wide array of standards. Please scroll through the options below to see alignments. Standards lists may not be exhaustive. Each tour is accompanied by worksheets for your class, which can be downloaded from this page.
For students with sensory needs, we have provided a social story to prepare them for their visit.
The upper-level US History Tour (grades 9-12) is made in accordance with the following Missouri and Kansas State Standards:
- MO 9-12.AH.4.CC.A Trace the significant events and developments of the Great Depression and WWII.
- KS 4.2 The student will analyze the context and draw conclusions about continuity and change.
- MO 9-12.AH.3.CC.C Evaluate the impact of U.S. participation in WWI and the resulting peace efforts.
- KS 1.1 The student will recognize and evaluate significant choices and consequences that have impacted our lives and futures.
- MO 9-12.AH.1.PC.A Using a United States’ historical lens, describe how peoples’ perspectives shaped the sources/artifacts they created.
- KS 5.1 The student will recognize and evaluate dynamic relationships that impact lives in communities, states, and nations.
- MO 9-12.AH.5.CC.D Analyze the origins, goals, and key events of the continuing U.S. movements to realize equal rights for women and other minorities.
- KS 3.3 The student will investigate and connect how societies are shaped by the identities, beliefs, and practices of individuals and groups with contemporary issues.

The upper-level World History Tour (grades 9-12) is made in accordance with the following Missouri and Kansas State Standards:
- MO 9-12.WH.5.PC.B Analyze the process of globalization to determine its effects on global conflict and cooperation.
- KS 5.1 The student will recognize and evaluate dynamic relationships that impact lives in communities, states, and nations.
- MO 6-8.WH.3.EC.A Describe trade patterns and how they influence the movement of resources, goods and services.
- KS 5.1 The student will recognize and evaluate dynamic relationships that impact lives in communities, states, and nations.
- MO 6.8.WH.1.PC.A Using a world history lens, describe how peoples’ perspectives shaped the sources/artifacts they created.
- KS 3.1 The student will recognize and evaluate how societies are shaped by the identities, beliefs, and practices of individuals and groups.
- MO 9-12.WH.1.EC.A Using a world history lens, analyze the opportunity costs and benefits of economic decisions on society and on individuals post c. 1450.
- KS 1.4 The student will use their understanding of choices and consequences to make a claim or advance a thesis using evidence and argument.

The lower-level Social Studies Tour (grades K-5) is made in accordance with the following Missouri and Kansas State Standards:
- MO K.EG.5.A.b With assistance, read, construct, and use maps of familiar places such as the classroom, the home, the bedroom etc.
- MO 1.TS.7.A.b Identify and use artifacts to share information on social studies’ topics.
- MO 2.EG.5.E.b Describe how transportation and communication systems have facilitated the movement of people, products, and ideas. KS 4.1 The student will recognize and evaluate continuity and change over time.
- MO 3.TS.7.A.b Create and use artifacts to share information on social studies’ topics.
- MO 2.E.4.A.b Demonstrate how people use money to buy and sell goods and services.
- KS 2.2 The student will analyze the context and draw conclusions about rights and responsibilities.
- MO 4.EG.5.D.a Analyze how people are affected by, depend on, adapt to and change their physical environments in the past and in the present.
- MO 5.TS.7.A.b Evaluate and use artifacts to share information on social studies’ topics.
