Requirements and Responsibilities
Volunteers primarily interact with visitors by leading guided tours, tabling, prepping and staffing programs, and providing educational “pop-up” programs in the galleries.
Applicants must pass a background check and complete training on the Museum’s history and collection with the Museum Educators. The Museum offers a flexible volunteer schedule with a minimum commitment of one shift every three months.

The Museum is dedicated to making its collection, building, and programs accessible to all audiences. Accessible features include:
- Designated parking for visitors with disabilities.
- ADA-recognized service animals permitted throughout the Museum.
- A wheelchair ramp provides access from the parking lot to the front entrance.
- Multiple elevators are available for access to the second floor.
- A complimentary wheelchair is available at the admission desk on a first-come, first-served basis (reservations not available).
The Museum is open Wednesday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is closed on Tuesday. The Museum occasionally has evening events as well.

During the winter, the Museum may close due to inclement weather. The Museum Educator will communicate closures to volunteers as needed, and it is also recommended that volunteers check the Museum’s social media for weather updates.
