Where is the Museum located?
The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures is located off 52nd Street on the southwest corner of the University of Missouri-Kansas City campus, just a few blocks south of the Country Club Plaza shopping and entertainment district.
What are the Museum’s regular hours?
The Museum is open Wednesday–Monday, 10am-4pm and is closed on Tuesdays.
What Can I Bring?
Does the Museum sell food and drinks on site?
In order to protect the collection, food and drink are not sold on site or allowed in the galleries.
Can I bring a group to the Museum?
Yes, a discounted ticket price is available for groups of 10 or more who request at least two weeks in advance and receive confirmation of the group sales rate with Museum staff. Learn more about group visits.
Can I host an event at the Museum?

Can I take photos or videos at the Museum?
Yes, visitors are welcome to take photos inside or outside of the Museum for personal, non-commercial use only. Photography is not permitted in areas designated “No Photography;” this may include special exhibitions or objects on loan from private collections or other institutions. While in the Museum, please leave the flash off to protect the collection. Video is not permitted at the Museum.
What is your ticket policy?
All admission sales are final.
The Museum reserves the right to cancel events and/or tickets for any reason. If your event and/or tickets are cancelled, you will be informed via phone or email as soon as possible. In the event of a cancellation, you will be fully refunded within 30 days. Your refund method will be based on your original method of payment.
Accessibility
Is there free parking?
Parking is always free at the Museum. The entrance to the Museum’s parking lot is located off 52nd Street.
Are all ages welcome at the Museum?
The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures proudly welcomes all ages.
Is the Museum ADA accessible?
The Museum is ADA accessible. A wheelchair is free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis for use while in the Museum. ADA-recognized service animals are welcome in the Museum. Please note that the Museum grounds are not ADA accessible. Learn more on the Museum’s Accessibility page.
Is the Museum open on holidays?
The Museum is closed on MLK Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day. Please reference the ticketing calendar to confirm all holiday closures or contact the Museum team for clarification.
Collections
Does the Museum accept donations of toys or miniatures?
Due to limited staffing and the large number of inquiries we receive, the Museum is only able to consider donations to the collection between November 1 and April 30 each year.
How many objects are in the collection?
Since 1982, the Museum has amassed 100,000 objects and counting.
Can the Museum appraise my object?
It is considered a conflict of interest for Museum professionals to provide appraisals, so we are unable to offer official or unofficial values of toys or miniatures. Visit the International Society of Appraisers at isa-appraisers.org to find qualified professionals.
