    Museum members receive free admission.

    Groups of 10 or more people are encouraged to make advanced reservations. Please visit Group Visits for more information.


    We aim to be accessible to all families and individuals. Through Museums for All, we’re pleased to offer reduced admission to guests who might not otherwise be able to visit. The program supports those receiving food assistance (SNAP) benefits visiting T/m for a minimal fee of $3 per person, up to four people, with the presentation of a SNAP Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card.     The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures is located off 52nd Street on the southwest corner of the University of Missouri- Kansas City campus, just a few blocks south of the Country Club Plaza shopping and entertainment district.

    Free parking is available off 52nd Street in front of the museum.

    Plan Your Visit

    There is a lot to see and do at T/m. We suggest visitors allow at least 60 minutes to view the museum, but many visitors stay for hours. While younger guests are welcome, the museum is best enjoyed by guests ages five and up.


    HELPFUL HINTS

    Still photography is permitted for private, noncommercial use only in the museum galleries devoted to the permanent collection. The use of flash is prohibited at all times and in all galleries. Movie and video cameras are prohibited. For press and special photography, including the use of tripods, stands, and film and videotape projects, please contact the marketing department.

    The museum is ADA accessible. A wheelchair is available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis for use while in the museum. ADA recognized service animals are welcome in the museum.

    Food and drink are not permitted in the museum. Please leave large bags and backpacks at home. The museum encourages use of the smallest stroller possible to accommodate your children, preferably a folding stroller, in the museum galleries to ensure that all visitors enjoy their experience.

    Please note that the museum grounds are not ADA accessible. If you choose to use the grounds during your visit, please carry out all items that you carry in. T/m does not offer picnic tables, trash cans, or regular maintenance of the grounds.

    Group Visits

    To guarantee all of our visitors have an enjoyable experience, we highly encourage groups of 10 or more to schedule their visit. A scheduled visit allows for an expedited admissions experience so the group can get right to enjoying the museum.


    SELF-GUIDED VISITS

    Visitors can enjoy the museum at their own leisure on a self-guided visit. Please allow 60-90 minutes for a self-guided visit. One chaperone per five children is required for self-guided visits. Regular admission prices apply. Please contact Visitor Services Associate Hannah Bernardini at bernardinih@toyandminiaturemuseum.org or 816.235.8011 to schedule group visits two to four weeks in advance.


    GUIDED TOURS

    Guided highlights tours may be scheduled for groups of 10-50 people. Guided highlights tours last 50-60 minutes. Focus tours for specific exhibits may also be available, please inquire. Groups are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled tour time. Groups arriving 20 minutes or more after their scheduled tour time will forfeit their guided tour, but are welcome to enjoy the museum on a self-guided tour. One chaperone per 10 children is required for guided tours.     PARKING

    Designated spaces are available in the museum parking lot for visitors with disabilities.


    SERVICE ANIMALS

    ADA recognized service animals are welcome in the museum.


    WHEELCHAIRS

    The museum is accessible to wheelchair guests as well as visitors who need to avoid stairs. An elevator is available to access the museum’s second floor.

    A wheelchair is available free of charge at the admission desk on a first-come, first-served basis. Advance reservations are not available.
