The Tureman Mansion is available for rent at times that do not conflict with Museum operations. Submit all requests at least 6 weeks in advance. Galleries can be open during events for an additional fee. Exhibitions are subject to change without notice.
Unless otherwise agreed upon, use will be for 4 hours or 8 hours. The basic rental fee does not cover Museum access.
The Museum does not host weddings or fundraising events. The Museum considers exceptions on a case-by-case basis.
Food and drink must stay within designated rental spaces and may not be taken into the galleries. In order to protect the Museum’s collection, it is the responsibility of the event organizer to communicate that guests will not take any food or drink into the Museum galleries at any time.
In some cases, the Museum may require a certificate of insurance. If damages occur during the event, the renter is responsible for repair costs.
Yes, but all vendors, entertainment, and rental companies must be approved by the Museum at least two weeks prior to the event. The Museum reserves the right to reject any vendor or service.
All equipment, catering, and rental deliveries must be scheduled with the Museum before the event. The Museum will not accept deliveries at unscheduled times. You must remove all rental equipment or furnishings on the day of the event or the following business day.
Submit an inquiry form at least six weeks in advance. Once your date, time, and guest count are confirmed with Museum staff, a $250 deposit is required to secure your reservation for this unique private event space in Kansas City.
Please note: The Museum staff must be on the premises for the full event, including set up and clean up. Staff will open and close the Museum and provide direction regarding the use of the building, as well as in case of emergency. Museum staff are the final authority for all questions regarding the use of the property before, during, and after the event.
Cancellations more than 30 days before the event receive a 50% refund of fees paid. Cancellations within 30 days of the event are nonrefundable.
Please note: Staff may terminate the event at any time if the renter or their guests violate the Museum rental guidelines.
