Petra Kralickova Steps Down as Executive Director of The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures

The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures has announced that Petra Kralickova will step down as Executive Director after eight years of dedicated leadership. Her final day in the role will be May 13, 2025. Kralickova will remain in Kansas City and is set to begin a new position, with an official announcement expected in the coming days.
“It has been an honor to serve as the Executive Director of The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures for the past eight years. The growth and accomplishments we have achieved as a team – from enhancing visibility and community engagement to expanding the Museum’s innovative programs – have been deeply rewarding. I am proud of all that we have accomplished, and I am confident that the Museum is well-positioned for continued success. I am grateful for the trust and dedication of the Board, staff, and community, and I look forward to seeing the Museum continue to thrive.”
During her tenure, Kralickova led the Museum through a period of remarkable growth, significantly increasing its public profile and strengthening its community partnerships. Under her leadership, the Museum expanded its collections and exhibitions and launched dynamic educational programs that reached audiences of all ages.



“Petra has provided exceptional leadership for the Museum over the past eight years,” said Anne Manning, Chair of the Board of Directors. “Her strategic vision and commitment to preserving the Museum’s legacy have laid a strong foundation for sustained growth. While we are sad to see her go, we are grateful for her and all that she has contributed and look forward to building on that momentum.”
Troy Lillebo, Associate Vice Chancellor of External Relations at UMKC, added, “Petra has been an invaluable partner to the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and her leadership has been transformational – achieving national recognition for the Museum while simultaneously deepening engagement with the region. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors and remain committed to supporting the Museum’s mission and growth.”
The Board of Directors will soon begin the search for a new Executive Director, with plans in place to ensure a seamless transition and continued progress toward the Museum’s mission and continued growth.
