Story Connections
Story Connections is a program for those experiencing memory loss and their caregivers. This specially designed program will create a meaningful museum experience that ignites conversation inspired by the collection between participants and facilitators, and provides community support for this audience.
Participants will experience a 30-minute, object-based tour and discussion in the gallery, followed by refreshments and further conversation with a hands-on focus in the Museum’s education space. Doors open at 1:30 PM to explore the featured gallery before the tour. This program is offered in partnership with the Heart of America Chapter of The Alzheimer’s Association and the I’m Still Here Foundation.

April 28 Program

On April 28, explore, “View-Master: The Novelty of Armchair Tourism.” For centuries, optical toys have captivated children and adults alike. The View-Master, introduced in 1939, was no exception. From the comfort of home, one could visit the National Parks, Disneyland, and favorite movies. Join the Museum to discuss the history, impact, and shared experiences of optical toys like View-Master.
The conversation in the Museum’s galleries will be followed by a hands-on activity and refreshments.
